Exeter Parkrun

Nordic Walk the Exeter Riverside parkrun on Saturdays at 9 am, a free event.

Sue quite often walks and volunteers, and when you register you can join the Exe Nordic Walking group. Walk for fitness, improve on your time, and enjoy an active start to your weekend. Become part of the parkrun community, and join the volunteer team. Don’t forget your barcode if you would like to record your times.

Find out more about ‘parkwalking’ and the benefits of being well behind all the racers in this lovely Guardian article from October 2023. Let’s build a Nordic Walking community who walk the parkrun.

Exeter Green Circle

The Green Circle is a 12 mile (or so) circular route of footpaths and cycle paths around Exeter, which takes in all five of the city’s valley parks.

On Exeter City Council’s website, you can find out more about the whole route and its accessibility, and download leaflets about each of the five sections. The route is also available in the free Go Jauntly app.

There are often activities along sections of the route – guided walks, bike rides, sports groups, and of course Nordic Walking! Contact your nearest community physical activity organiser to find out more.

In winter 2023, the City Council is collecting our views about the Green Circle: “By understanding how the Green Circle is currently used, we can ensure that more people know about it and are able to use it in the future.” The consultation closes at midnight on Wednesday 20 December 2023.
